Walking The 39 Steps

From James Bond to James Bourne, The 39 Steps was a huge influence on cinema. Updating notes from my presentation to Broadway audiences years ago, this 2018 talk delves into the films’ impact on pop culture—and its political significance at a turning point in 1935.

Benefit for Tippi Hedren’s Roar Foundation

80 years young and sharp as a Bates kitchen Henckels, this Hitchcock blonde (The Birds, Marnie) swung through Oregon to raise awareness—and cash—for her non-profit Roar Foundation. I emcee’d the event, interviewed Tippi, led a post-movie Q & A and when it was done, wrote up this report.

Feeding Frenzy: Hitch and Food

I was invited to speak at a fundraiser for local schools. Brainstorming with the hosts turned a straightforward dinner-and-lecture into a fun, macabre evening: each course was thoughtfully served with a Hitchcockian twist. See the menu and my presentation.
